Orange Jordan Partners with Ministry and Disability Council to Promote Inclusion in ICT Sector

The Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and Orange Jordan jointly hosted the fourth session of the Tech Women Inclusivity Network (TECH WIN) titled “Inclusion and Effective Communication with Persons with Disabilities in the ICT Sector.” The event took place at Orange’s Digital Center for Innovation and Creativity and included around 40 participants from ICT companies, stakeholders, and persons with disabilities.

This session is part of Jordan’s Youth, Technology, and Jobs (YTJ) project and focuses on fostering inclusive workplace cultures and meaningful engagement with persons with disabilities, opening impactful opportunities in the ICT sector.

Opening remarks highlighted strong public-private collaboration to build a more accessible technology and innovation ecosystem. The panel discussion showcased best practices in assistive technology and shared success stories of employees with disabilities. Orange Jordan reaffirmed its commitment to creating equitable, diverse workplaces with ongoing tailored training programs, supporting the Sustainable Development Goals through clear employment policies.

Rawan Barakat, Chairperson of the Women’s Committee under the Higher Council, emphasized empowering persons with disabilities, particularly women, through inclusive policies and economic empowerment initiatives. The session featured reviews of assistive technology, a customized training program for inclusive environments, and a new survey to identify sector-specific needs and challenges.
