Pakistan witnessed a 16.31% decline in mobile phone imports during the first eleven months of the 2024–25 fiscal year compared to the same period last year, according to data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS). Mobile phone imports fell to $1.356 billion in July–May FY25, down from $1.620 billion in July–May FY24.
In May 2025 alone, mobile phone imports dropped sharply by 35.83% year-on-year to $101.131 million from $157.592 million in May 2024. Compared to April 2025, imports also decreased by 19.61%, down from $125.103 million.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s overall merchandise exports grew by 5.15% during the first eleven months of FY25, reaching $29.564 billion compared to $28.117 billion in the same period last year. Imports across all categories rose by 7.50%, totaling $53.550 billion in July–May FY25, up from $49.815 billion in the previous fiscal year.
