KUWAIT — Jahez Application, a leading platform connecting customers with their favorite shops via online orders, has officially launched Kuwait’s first Food Innovation Hackathon in strategic partnership with the Kuwait Innovation Center (KIC). This national-level initiative marks a major milestone in nurturing innovation and empowering young talent within Kuwait’s food sector, aligned with the broader goals of Kuwait Vision 2035.
Following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on June 25, 2025, Jahez Application and KIC unveiled a comprehensive seven-phase program that guides participants from ideation to solution implementation. Open to youth, students, developers, and creative thinkers across Kuwait, the hackathon invites innovative ideas that leverage artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technology to tackle real-world challenges in food delivery.
Registration opens on July 13, with applications evaluated on a rolling basis. Selected participants will be announced during a formal confirmation phase and onboarded for an intensive three-day bootcamp scheduled from August 6 to 8 at the Kuwait Innovation Center. The bootcamp includes skill-building workshops on AI fundamentals, Figma interface design, business modeling, and innovation frameworks. Participants will also gain practical insights into Jahez’s operations and technology to ensure their solutions address genuine industry needs.
Finalists will pitch their prototypes and business plans to an expert panel during a live awards ceremony on August 16 at Andalus Hall. The top three teams will receive cash prizes of KD 3,000 for first place, KD 2,000 for second, and KD 1,000 for third. Beyond prizes, winning ideas will gain incubation support, mentorship, and the opportunity for implementation with Jahez Application, fostering sustained impact and growth beyond the event.
Abdulrahman Reda, Marketing Team Lead at Jahez Application, remarked, “This hackathon is a celebration of youth, innovation, and entrepreneurship in Kuwait. Together with KIC, we’re proud to create a platform where aspiring minds can reimagine food delivery’s future, develop bold solutions, and receive the support necessary to bring their ideas to life.”
He added, “At Jahez, we believe in empowering young talent through real opportunities. This initiative nurtures creativity, drives practical change, and creates lasting value for the future of our sector.”
Supported by a robust promotional campaign engaging local communities and creative networks, Jahez and KIC aim to attract a diverse participant pool. The hackathon serves as both a launchpad for innovation and a hands-on learning experience driven by collaboration, mentorship, and real-world problem-solving.
