Vi Vodafone Idea, one of India’s leading telecom operators, has announced the next phase of its 5G network deployment, now underway in 23 additional cities including Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Pune, Surat, and Vizag. This expansion covers all of Vi’s priority circles and will be rolled out in phases, following recent launches in Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, and Punjab.
Customers with 5G-enabled devices in these new cities will soon access Vi’s 5G services, with an introductory offer providing unlimited 5G data on plans starting at ₹29. Vi reports strong adoption, with over 70% of eligible users in live areas already experiencing the benefits of its next-generation network.
To improve network performance and energy efficiency, Vi is implementing AI-powered Self-Organising Networks (SON) and collaborating with global technology partners Nokia and Ericsson.
