Jordan-Syria Technical Forum to Be Held in Damascus as Reconstruction Phase Begins

Khalil Hajj Tawfiq, head of the Jordan and Amman Chambers of Commerce, announced that a Jordanian-Syrian technical forum will soon take place in Damascus, emphasizing that Syria’s stability is vital to Jordan’s interests.

In an interview with Jordanian channel al-Mamlaka TV, Hajj Tawfiq expressed optimism that the forum would be held this month, noting, “The reconstruction phase has now begun after the lifting of sanctions.”

He highlighted Jordan’s “tremendous capabilities” in the information technology sector and its readiness to support Syria not only in IT but also across broader reconstruction efforts. Hajj Tawfiq urged Arab countries to provide assistance to Syria, particularly in the areas of construction, information technology, and education.

Furthermore, he confirmed that alongside the technical forum, preparations are underway to organize a Jordanian-Syrian economic forum in Damascus, aiming to strengthen bilateral cooperation further.
