Lenovo Accelerates AI Innovation and Market Expansion in Sri Lanka

With over 20 years of presence in Sri Lanka, Lenovo is intensifying its regional footprint by unveiling its latest artificial intelligence (AI)-powered PCs and software innovations at a recent partner event in Colombo. The gathering, which attracted more than 200 partners from across South Asia, marked Lenovo’s commitment to ushering in what it terms “the AI decade.”

Central to Lenovo’s strategy is its focus on hybrid AI—a model that prioritizes keeping user data on devices rather than transferring it to the cloud, enhancing privacy, security, and personalized experiences.

“AI PCs empower everyone with the benefits of AI while ensuring that data remains secure and localized,” said Ashish Sikka, Director and Category Head of Lenovo India. He highlighted Lenovo’s proprietary AI Now software, designed to streamline workflows for learners, creators, and gamers by delivering real-time, practical AI-driven solutions.

AI Now functions as a personal knowledge hub, assisting users by summarizing interviews, creating highlight reels for gamers, and generating question papers for students, all while maintaining data privacy.

“Sri Lanka is a tech-forward market with consumers who demand cutting-edge technology,” remarked Dinesh Nair, Director of Consumer Business, Lenovo India. He emphasized Lenovo’s portfolio of premium devices like the Yoga Slim 7i Aura and IdeaPad Slim 3i, which are complemented by AI features that enhance overall user experience.

Lenovo’s AI ecosystem is supported by substantial research and development investments and partnerships with global technology leaders such as Intel, AMD, Microsoft, and NVIDIA. Its AI PC lineup caters to a wide audience, including students, content creators, business professionals, and gamers.

“We are committed to expanding our reach through both hardware and service offerings,” said Naveen Kejriwal, General Manager – Overseas, Consumer, Commercial and Tablets, Lenovo India. “From AI-powered PCs to smart connectivity solutions and immersive learning zones, we aim to deliver a comprehensive digital experience tailored to Sri Lanka’s market.”

Backed by a robust retail presence encompassing over 200 retailers and nearly 600 partner stores, Lenovo is focused on making its innovative technologies widely accessible. With the PC market showing signs of recovery post-pandemic, Lenovo is optimistic about growth prospects in both consumer and commercial sectors.

By continuing to invest in personalization, security, and seamless cross-device functionality, Lenovo aims to lead South Asia’s AI transformation by making smarter, more secure technology available to all users.
