Nepal Telecom (NTC) announced that it is actively working to restore normal internet speeds following disruptions caused by heavy traffic pressure. Since 1:30 AM on July 8, 2025 (Ashar 24), users have experienced difficulties connecting to and using NTC’s internet services.
The slowdown is attributed to technical problems faced by one of NTC’s international bandwidth providers. As a result, all traffic is being routed through an alternative provider, causing significant pressure on that link and impacting service quality.
NTC assures customers that efforts are underway to resolve the issue promptly and apologizes for the inconvenience caused. The company serves over 3.52 lakh fixed-line customers and 14.6 million data users, ranking as Nepal’s second-largest internet provider.
