36Zero Expands into Saudi Arabia to Accelerate Digital Transformation in Construction and Heavy Industries

36Zero, a UK-based technology company specializing in AI and IoT solutions for the construction, mining, and oil & gas sectors, has officially expanded its operations into Saudi Arabia with the opening of its Riyadh office. Supported by AstroLabs, a leading business expansion platform in the Gulf, this move marks a significant step in 36Zero’s commitment to transforming construction and urban development in the region.

Having previously established a presence in Saudi Arabia through involvement in major giga projects such as NEOM and New Murabba, 36Zero has secured a strong market position. The company already maintains a footprint in Spain and the UAE and boasts partnerships with key players like Oracle, AtkinsRealis, and significant Saudi public and private entities, including the Public Investment Fund (PIF), Shamal Technologies, and WhiteHelmet.

36Zero’s platform enhances labour mobilisation, project cost control, and worker safety and welfare management, currently supporting over one million migrant workers in Saudi Arabia. Founder and CEO David Redmond highlighted Saudi Arabia’s $1 trillion infrastructure pipeline as a strategic opportunity to advance digital transformation in heavy industries, particularly construction, while improving project delivery, cost management, and workforce protection.

The company expressed gratitude towards UK Export Finance, the Department of Business & Trade, and the Saudi British Joint Business Council for their support, along with AstroLabs for facilitating a swift market entry. With its new Riyadh hub, 36Zero aims to deepen relationships with existing clients and explore new sectors and markets aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.

Looking ahead, 36Zero plans to form partnerships with major industry players such as Aramco, Ma’aden, and the Diriyah Company. Through its collaboration with AstroLabs, the company is set to accelerate local hiring, supplier onboarding, and project execution. Alex Nicholls, AstroLabs’ Director of Expansion, emphasized 36Zero’s leadership in product innovation and its capacity to enhance productivity, operational efficiency, and safety compliance across Saudi Arabia’s key sectors.

Founded to bridge critical gaps in construction project management and worker safety, 36Zero offers an integrated platform delivering real-time project and workforce insights. The company’s Saudi expansion coincides with the kingdom’s preparations to host global events, including Riyadh Expo 2030 and the 2034 FIFA World Cup.
