Airtel Money Tanzania Partners with TCDC to Boost Digital Financial Services for Farmers

Airtel Money Tanzania has partnered with the Tanzania Cooperative Development Commission (TCDC) to expand digital financial services for thousands of farmers nationwide. Announced via LinkedIn, the collaboration enables farmers to receive direct mobile payments and access affordable smartphones. The initiative also offers tailored income credits to support farm growth and financial education to help farmers manage their finances, especially in underserved areas.

This partnership follows a successful pilot in Morogoro, where Airtel Money worked with Agricultural Marketing Cooperative Societies (AMCOS) to disburse digital payments for agricultural inputs. Airtel Money highlighted that the pilot increased efficiency, transparency, and access to financial tools for smallholder farmers. The company stated, “Together, we are ensuring that farmers are included in the formal financial system, supporting their growth and security.”
