Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed traffic enhancement works at the Al Wasl Street and Al Manara Street intersection, adding a new lane for vehicles heading from Al Manara Street to Sheikh Zayed Road and introducing a dedicated U-turn lane in the same direction.
These upgrades are part of RTA’s 2025 Traffic Improvement Plan aimed at expanding Dubai’s road network, improving connectivity along key corridors, and easing congestion in areas like Jumeirah, Umm Suqeim, and Al Safa. The goal is to support Dubai’s population growth and urban expansion while enhancing residents’ quality of life and road safety.
The intersection improvements increased lanes to three, boosting capacity by 50%, improving traffic flow, and reducing waiting times by up to 30%. The new U-turn lane has further cut waiting times by up to 35%, facilitating smoother movement between Sheikh Zayed Road and local streets.
