Iraq’s Ministry of Communications announced a significant increase in internet usage over the past five years. According to data from the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), internet penetration in Iraq reached 82.9% by the end of 2024, up from 44.3% in 2019.
The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to further digital development, pledging new initiatives and infrastructure projects in collaboration with public and private sectors. These efforts aim to accelerate Iraq’s digital transformation and establish a modern, integrated telecommunications network.
