Reaffirming its dedication to global digital collaboration, Qatar’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) actively participated in the High-Level Events of the World Summit on the Information Society +20 (WSIS+20) Forum 2025, held from July 7 to 12. The forum addressed pivotal themes such as digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and the enhancement of digital government services.
MCIT’s delegation included Hassan Jassim Al Sayed, the minister’s advisor and Chairman of the Artificial Intelligence Committee, who attended the official opening and delivered an intervention during the Ministerial Roundtable. He presented Qatar’s national vision focused on strengthening digital infrastructure, designing inclusive government services, and advancing key AI initiatives including the Arabic AI project Fanar, ethical AI principles, and integrating generative AI technologies in government operations in collaboration with global tech leaders.
The ministry’s participation concluded with the “Leaders TalkX: Building inclusive and knowledge-driven digital societies” session, which explored strategies for digital inclusion, equitable access to information, and the development of policies supporting robust digital infrastructure and sustainable digital societies.
Through this engagement, MCIT reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment to enhancing its global digital presence, fostering international knowledge exchange, and building strategic partnerships that advance digital innovation and sustainable ICT leadership.
