Egypt Launches Initiative to Support Workers Abroad with Offices in Eight Countries

The Egyptian Ministry of Labor has introduced a new program designed to enhance protection and support for Egyptian workers overseas by setting up labour representation offices in eight key destination countries: Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Jordan, Qatar, Italy, and Germany.

These dedicated offices will act as direct communication hubs between Egyptian expatriate workers and their home government. Their role includes resolving labour disputes, ensuring adherence to employment contracts, and facilitating dialogue between workers and employers.

Beyond individual assistance, the initiative aims to improve legal protections and working conditions for Egyptians working abroad. It will also focus on raising awareness regarding workers’ rights and obligations under local laws and bilateral agreements in host countries.
