Network International, a leading digital commerce enabler across the Middle East and Africa, has announced a partnership with Ghana-based fintech Blu Penguin to integrate mobile money transactions into Network’s N-Genius™ payment terminals. This collaboration marks a major step toward expanding financial inclusion and advancing payment innovation in Ghana and the wider West African region.
Through this partnership, Network’s clients in Ghana can now accept mobile money payments from all providers using their existing N-Genius point-of-sale terminals. The integration strengthens Network’s role as a third-party payment processor (TPP) and expands its service portfolio to better meet evolving market demands.
Combining Blu Penguin’s robust mobile money processing technology with Network International’s card infrastructure, the unified platform offers merchants a secure, accessible, and seamless payment experience that caters to both banked and unbanked consumers. Blu Penguin will integrate its technology with Network’s acquiring infrastructure to ensure efficient backend processing across major telecom networks in Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, and DRC Congo.
This strategic partnership enhances payment accessibility and convenience for African merchants by offering multiple payment options within a single app. It reflects a joint effort to accelerate the adoption of digital payments and promote financial inclusion throughout Sub-Saharan Africa.
The initial rollout has begun, with plans to enable mobile money payments on all N-Genius terminals used by financial institutions across Ghana and eventually the broader region.
Chinwe Uzoho, Regional Managing Director for Western Africa at Network International, highlighted the partnership’s role in providing flexible payment solutions for diverse customers. Sebastian Yalley, Managing Director for Ghana Processing, noted the enhanced service offerings this brings to banks and merchants. Blu Penguin founder Tenu Awoonor emphasized the collaboration’s goal to improve payment convenience and accelerate digital payment adoption in Africa.
