UAE-based technology company e& and 4iG Group, a major telecommunications provider in Hungary and the Western Balkans, have signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MoU) to explore cooperation in digital infrastructure development.
The MoU outlines future collaboration in planning, building, and operating advanced connectivity and data infrastructure projects, including subsea and terrestrial networks, large-scale data centers, and other initiatives to enhance digital interconnection between the Middle East, North Africa, and Europe.
Initial plans include jointly developing a data center in Albania to support subsea data traffic, alongside potential infrastructure projects in Hungary through e& PPF Telecom, which operates fixed and mobile networks in Bulgaria, Hungary, Serbia, and Slovakia.
By combining e&’s global telecom infrastructure expertise with 4iG’s regional leadership and transit network experience, the partnership aims to enable scalable infrastructure projects and strengthen cross-border digital collaboration.
This MoU is part of 4iG’s broader strategic engagements with leading UAE entities such as EDGE Group and Mubadala Investment Company.
e& Group CEO Hatem Dowidar described the partnership as a key step toward enhancing digital infrastructure that drives economic growth, resilience, and innovation. 4iG Group Chairman Gellért Jászai highlighted new opportunities across rapidly expanding digital corridors connecting Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
