Ooredoo Kuwait has announced a strategic partnership with Ericsson to modernize its charging system, leveraging Ericsson’s Cloud Native Infrastructure (CNIS). This upgrade will deploy the latest release of Ericsson Charging, including the cloud-native Charging Access Function (CAF), to enhance Ooredoo Kuwait’s capabilities in delivering advanced 5G services.
Ericsson Charging offers a cloud-native, scalable, and flexible solution that supports real-time convergent charging, policy control, and rapid service creation. This enables Ooredoo Kuwait to develop configurable packages, offers, and discounts, facilitating monetization of 5G features and innovative use cases tailored to its subscribers.
Ericsson’s Cloud Native Infrastructure provides a streamlined on-premises cloud solution, deploying containers as a service (CaaS) directly on bare metal servers, simplifying architecture by eliminating virtualization layers. This infrastructure supports both virtual and cloud-native 5G applications, ensuring robust performance and scalability.
Issa Haider, CTO of Ooredoo Kuwait, emphasized that the new Ericsson Charging capabilities will empower the company to monetize advanced 5G offerings effectively and enhance customer experience, marking a significant milestone in its digital transformation.
Petra Schirren, President of Ericsson Gulf, highlighted the partnership as a key element in driving innovation and improving connectivity in Kuwait, supporting Ooredoo Kuwait’s vision to deliver advanced, customer-centric digital solutions.
