Qatar Airways Completes Starlink Wi-Fi Installation on Entire Boeing 777 Fleet, Offering Gate-to-Gate High-Speed Internet

Qatar Airways has successfully installed SpaceX’s Starlink satellite Wi-Fi across its entire fleet of 54 Boeing 777 aircraft, delivering free internet speeds up to 500 Mbps from gate to gate. This milestone makes Qatar Airways the global leader in Starlink-enabled long-haul travel and the only airline in the Middle East and North Africa to offer this revolutionary service.

The installation, initially projected to take two years, was completed in just nine months without grounding any aircraft for more than 10 hours. Qatar Airways Group CEO Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer stated, “We promised the fastest, most seamless in-flight connectivity in the industry, and with Starlink we have delivered it faster and at an unmatched scale.” The airline now plans to equip its Airbus A350 fleet with Starlink by mid-2026.

Since launching its first Starlink-equipped Boeing 777 in October 2024, Qatar Airways has operated over 15,000 Starlink-connected flights, providing passengers in Economy and Premium cabins with reliable, high-speed internet to stream, work, game, or video call at no extra cost.

With the Boeing 777 rollout complete, Qatar Airways is focused on extending the service across its Airbus A350 fleet, enabling uninterrupted connectivity on ultra-long-haul routes to cities like Tokyo, New York, Sydney, and Cape Town.

This achievement reaffirms Qatar Airways’ leadership in aviation innovation and elevates the digital experience for travelers across its network of more than 170 destinations.
