Tata Communications and AWS Partner to Build AI-Ready Network Infrastructure in India

India-headquartered Tata Communications and cloud platform Amazon Web Services (AWS) have joined forces to deploy one of India’s largest and most advanced AI-ready networks. This collaboration establishes a high-capacity, resilient long-distance network connecting three major AWS infrastructure locations—Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Chennai—to accelerate generative AI adoption and cloud innovation across India.

The strategic network links AWS’s Mumbai and Hyderabad data centers along with AWS Direct Connect and Edge Network infrastructure in Chennai, creating a robust national backbone for AI and machine learning workloads. Tata Communications provides state-of-the-art, high-bandwidth, low-latency connectivity essential for performance-intensive AI applications. AWS will deploy its custom network technologies atop this infrastructure to ensure security, availability, and optimized performance between sites.

The partnership aims to empower Indian businesses to build, train, and deploy scalable AI applications, driving innovation in critical sectors such as healthcare, finance, and education. Both companies commit to maintaining stringent security measures and regulatory compliance to safeguard data privacy and integrity.

Tata Communications highlights that the new network will deliver the scalability and performance demanded by next-generation AI workloads, enabling AWS to further accelerate the development and deployment of generative AI solutions across India.
