Telecom and Digital Innovation Fair 2025 Highlights Transforming Ideas into Commercial Solutions

At the closing ceremony of the Telecom and Digital Innovation Fair 2025 held at Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) headquarters in Dhaka, speakers emphasized the critical role of converting creative ideas into commercially viable solutions to drive national development.

The daylong event showcased 32 innovations from 20 organizations, including student projects from seven universities and contributions from local and international IT and telecom firms. Awards were presented to the top five projects.

Robolife Technologies won first prize for a prosthetic hand controlled by electromyography (EMG) signals designed to assist persons with disabilities, receiving Tk 300,000. Their exhibit also featured a solar-powered telecom tower and a digital security solution.

Second place went to Ebitaan, which enables micro and cottage entrepreneurs to build e-commerce websites with a single click (Tk 150,000). Edotco Bangladesh secured third and fifth prizes for bamboo telecom towers and a power backup solution for BTS during load-shedding (Tk 100,000 and Tk 50,000). Grameenphone’s GP Accelerator earned fourth place with Tk 75,000.

Other notable innovations included Z-Tech’s AI-powered image processing system “Durbin,” MIST’s digital twin and 6G remote block model, IUT’s Bengali AI voice assistant and handwritten answer evaluation system, and North South University’s hybrid rural internet solution.

The fair also featured projects focused on waste management, AI-based sign language technology, inclusive network solutions, and real-time violence detection by Banglalink.

ICT Division Secretary Shish Haider Chowdhury, the chief guest, pledged full support for promising ideas, emphasizing innovation’s role in national progress. BTRC Chairman Major General (Retd) Md. Emdad Ul Bari highlighted the importance of leveraging data for impactful outcomes following significant connectivity improvements over 25 years.
