Salam Signs MoU with Syrian Ministry of Communications to Boost Syria’s Digital Infrastructure

At the Saudi-Syrian Investment Forum in Damascus, Salam signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Syria’s Ministry of Communications and Technology to develop Syria’s digital infrastructure and expand access to high-quality telecommunications services.

The MoU includes plans to establish IP Points of Presence (PoPs) in Damascus and Aleppo, enabling Salam to deliver reliable local and international Tier-1 connectivity. This initiative supports Syria’s digital transformation and technological development goals and highlights Salam’s commitment to regional digital integration and applying global telecommunications best practices.

Eng. Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih emphasized the strong collaboration between Saudi Arabia and Syria in ICT during the forum, expressing gratitude to Syrian Minister Abdulsalam Haykal for maintaining close dialogue with Saudi firms.

The agreement aligns with Saudi Arabia’s broader vision of fostering regional digital cooperation, enhancing infrastructure, and driving sustainable technological progress through strategic partnerships. Salam Vice President Abdullah AlRufaidi reaffirmed the company’s dedication to empowering Syria’s digital growth by leveraging Salam’s proven telecom expertise in Saudi Arabia.
