Nepal Telecom (NTC) announced that the recent 4G mobile data and VoLTE service disruptions across the country have been resolved. The outage, which began around 2:00 PM on 2082-04-02 and lasted approximately 3 hours and 35 minutes until 5:35 PM, left users unable to access 4G data and make VoLTE calls.
While the exact cause remains unconfirmed, speculation points to issues with NTC’s billing system as a potential trigger. The company is reportedly working to implement a new billing system to prevent future disruptions. During the outage, 3G and 2G services continued to operate normally, and VoWiFi services were unaffected.
Many users reported receiving incorrect subscription expiry messages during the outage, even when data packages like the Sajilo Unlimited Pack were still active.
NTC has restored full service for both 4G data and VoLTE calls. The incident highlights the critical importance of reliable telecom infrastructure, as users expressed frustration over network interruptions during their daily activities.
