Orange Egypt Launches 5G Network, Powering Faster Internet and Boosting Gaming Across the Country

Egypt’s digital landscape received a significant upgrade with Orange Egypt’s rollout of its 5G network, targeting the busiest urban areas to meet the growing demand for gaming, streaming, and digital connectivity.

In partnership with the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA), Orange Egypt’s 5G launch promises gamers and digital users faster speeds, reduced latency, and more reliable connections across multiple devices, fueling growth in esports and interactive platforms nationwide.

According to a 2025 report by Niko Partners, Egyptian gamers spend an average of 11.8 hours per week playing across mobile, PC, and consoles—surpassing the MENA regional average of 10.8 hours—highlighting Egypt’s emerging role as a key player in the region’s booming gaming scene.

Dr. Ayman Amiri, Orange Egypt’s Chief Technology and Information Officer, called the 5G rollout “a genuine milestone in Egypt’s digital evolution,” emphasizing the network’s potential to transform lives and spur growth in sectors reliant on advanced digital infrastructure. He affirmed Orange’s commitment to world-class telecom services and positioning Egypt as a regional technology hub.

While 5G opens new opportunities for digital entertainment, Egypt maintains strict regulations on gambling and iGaming, limiting online gambling to tourists and prohibiting it for citizens. Nonetheless, enhanced connectivity is expected to support the expansion of legal digital services.

With Orange Egypt’s expanding 5G coverage, the country is rapidly becoming a hotspot for gaming innovation, digital creativity, and tech-driven economic growth.
