SciBlitz 1.0 Research Festival Showcases Innovations by Young Researchers at CUET

Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) recently hosted “SciBlitz 1.0,” a vibrant research festival where over a hundred young researchers from across Bangladesh—including participants from RUET, KUET, and other universities—presented their work in science, technology, engineering, health, and mathematics.

Organized by the international engineering organization IEEE, the event featured two presentation formats for each research project: a concise three-minute pitch and a poster displayed as wall art.

Participants showcased diverse innovations, ranging from eco-friendly building designs and traffic congestion solutions to novel technologies aimed at improving daily life.

Naziyat Binte Harun, one of the participants, highlighted her team’s work on biodegradable plastics that significantly reduce environmental harm compared to conventional plastics. She emphasized the importance of complementing biodegradable materials with green energy technologies to further mitigate environmental impact.

Asif Miraj, President of the IEEE CUET Chapter, remarked on the enthusiasm for research among students and the scarcity of platforms for peer review prior to publishing. “Our goal is to provide maximum support for students to review and publish their research while maintaining high technical standards,” he said.
