ZTE and Jazz Complete Landmark Nationwide Deployment of Advanced Network Technologies in Pakistan

ZTE Corporation, a leading provider of integrated ICT solutions, announced the successful nationwide deployment of its triple-band ultra broadband radio (UBR) and next-generation FDD massive MIMO (FMM) technologies in partnership with Pakistan’s digital operator Jazz.

Since 2021, ZTE has installed over 4,000 FMM units across Jazz’s commercial network, significantly enhancing performance. The 320W FMM units deployed in 2021 delivered a 250% total performance gain, while the new 480W FMM units provide a 50% increase in transmit power alongside substantial reductions in energy consumption per gigabyte. This latest FMM technology yields an additional 30% performance boost.

Simultaneously, ZTE deployed more than 1,100 triple-band UBR units across Pakistan since its commercial launch in 2025. The UBR supports 2×80W transmission at 900 MHz and 4×140W at both 1800 MHz and 2100 MHz, enabling efficient spectrum use.

The UBR solution has transformed Jazz’s network operations by reducing remote radio units (RRUs) per site by 57%, saving tower space and lowering rental costs. Network performance has improved substantially, with a 70% increase in overall traffic capacity and user throughput, alleviating congestion and enhancing user experience.
