Saudi Arabia and UK Explore Collaboration on LEO Satellite Connectivity

A high-level Saudi delegation led by Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Alswaha recently visited the UK to explore partnerships in deep tech, digital innovation, and satellite communications. The tour included visits to leading British technology companies and research centers.

The delegation was introduced to AI-driven autonomous driving solutions at Wayve and laboratory automation robotics at Automata Technologies, with potential collaboration opportunities in digital health and life sciences.

Engagements with Catapult focused on fostering tech entrepreneurship and startup ecosystem growth. A key highlight was discussions with OneWeb, a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite company, to develop high-speed connectivity infrastructure across transport, energy, industry, and education sectors.

This visit aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 ambitions to localize advanced technologies, strengthen global ties, and position the Kingdom as a regional innovation hub.
