Ncell has launched Nepal’s first VoLTE roaming service, offering HD voice calls and high-speed 4G data to subscribers traveling abroad. Starting August 4, 2025, users visiting India can access this service through a partnership with Airtel. Testing is ongoing with major operators worldwide to expand coverage.
VoLTE roaming enables seamless HD voice calling on 4G LTE networks, eliminating reliance on older 2G/3G technologies that are being phased out in many countries. The service supports both outbound Nepali travelers and inbound visitors to Nepal, allowing international roamers to enjoy superior connectivity.
Current partners for outbound roaming include Jio, Vodafone (India), AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon (USA), Softbank, NTT Docomo (Japan), China Mobile, China Unicom (China), Bell, and Telus (Canada). For inbound roamers in Nepal, Ncell offers VoLTE roaming for Airtel and Jio (India), China Mobile (China), Ooredoo (Kuwait), Mobily (Saudi Arabia), AT&T (USA), and Viettel (Vietnam).
Ncell aims to expand this network further, empowering users to stay connected with family, friends, and businesses through reliable voice and data services worldwide.
