du Partners with Microsoft, Nokia, Khalifa University, and ITU to Launch First Arabic Telecom Large Language Model

du has teamed up with Microsoft, Nokia, Khalifa University’s 6G Research Center, and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) to develop the industry’s first Arabic Telecom Large Language Model (LLM). This unique cross-sector partnership combines global tech innovation, regional research expertise, and international policy guidance to create an AI model tailored specifically for telecom functions in Arabic.

The du Arabic Telecom LLM is designed to enhance internal telecom operations, enabling real-time handling of customer complaints, device issue resolution, and intelligent operational insights through culturally fluent, context-aware dialogue. Developed in the UAE, the model reflects the region’s linguistic and cultural standards, ensuring accurate applications within national critical infrastructure.

This breakthrough lays the foundation for future expansion into customer-facing services and multilingual support, aiming to drive sector-wide innovation. The collaboration exemplifies a commitment to localized, responsible AI applications in telecom and beyond.
