The University of Ibb wrapped up the sessions of the 5th International Scientific Conference on Modern Smart Technologies and Their Applications on Wednesday. Held in partnership with the Yemen Research Foundation under the theme “Innovation for a Sustainable Future,” the conference attracted 550 researchers from 32 countries.
At the closing session, Deputy Minister of Education and Scientific Research Dr. Hatim al-Duais highlighted the importance of translating the conference’s goals and recommendations into practical measures that drive national development and technological progress.
Ibb University Rector Dr. Nasr al-Hujaili described the presented research as a valuable scientific asset that institutions should leverage to boost sectoral performance through cutting-edge technologies.
The conference received support from the Yemen Research Foundation, Public Telecommunication Corporation, Oman-Yemen Telecom, TeleYemen, and al-Manar Hospital.
Participants called for upgrades to digital infrastructure, enhanced awareness of smart technologies, integration of these technologies into educational curricula, and increased research support in areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data science, robotics, smart cities, and renewable energy.
The event concluded with an awards ceremony attended by university vice presidents, deans, and officials from the education and health sectors.
