This paper examines the evolving relationship between technology and labor within Egypt’s labor market, focusing on how digitized work content and work relations shape policymaking. It investigates trends in workplace technology adoption, including computer and internet use, with special attention to firms’ adaptations during Covid-19, such as remote working.
The study analyzes the distribution and types of digital and computer skills across Egypt’s population and labor force, segmented by job categories. Additionally, it explores the role of digital platform employment in Egypt’s workforce, providing insights into the opportunities and challenges posed by technological transitions for labor market policies.
