The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MoTCIT) of Oman has invited local and regional digital platform and smart app companies to an introductory consultative meeting on launching a new digital platform for purchasing electronic tickets for public transportation. The meeting is set for August 21, 2025, at Al Midraja Hall, MoTCIT headquarters in Muscat, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon.
This initiative supports Oman Vision 2040 by promoting investment and enhancing private sector participation. The session will present the project concept, discuss key platform features, and collect market feedback.
Launched in 2023, the e-ticketing platform is part of a wider reform program updating over 30 transport and logistics regulations, including Roads Law revision, road project safety compliance, and a digital taxi meter app to boost efficiency and transparency.
Additional reforms cover educational transport regulations, land port and logistics center strategies, and public transportation international standards. The digital ticketing platform is a key element of these modernization efforts.
