Riyadh – Saudi Arabia-based Fahy Studios has raised $1.75 million in strategic investment from Impact46 and Merak Capital to accelerate the development of hybrid-casual mobile games and strengthen the Kingdom’s growing role in the global gaming industry.
Founded in 2023 by Hani Hashem, Owis Alsaour, and Fahad Alshibl, Fahy blends in-house game design, art, and development to create innovative, globally appealing mobile titles. The studio gained momentum through NEOM’s LevelUp accelerator, transforming from an indie team into a scalable studio, and expanded its reach through a publishing partnership with Kwalee, gaining expertise in user acquisition, monetisation, and publishing.
Building a Global Pipeline
Fahy’s development pipeline focuses on hybrid-casual games — titles that are easy to play but offer long-term progression. Upcoming projects include:
- RAWR – a monster-collecting RPG with unique battle mechanics and immersive storytelling.
- Footy Traps – a PvP football strategy game emphasizing tactical play and ranking progression.
- Heist Party – a multiplayer heist action game where alliances and betrayals shape gameplay.
“Today’s mobile gamers want more than fleeting experiences. They seek games that are instantly fun yet endlessly rewarding,” said Hani Hashem, CEO of Fahy Studios. “This investment fuels our mission to push the boundaries of mobile gaming, expand production, and attract top talent to the Kingdom.”
Investor Backing for Saudi’s Gaming Vision
Impact46 Managing Partner Basmah Al Sinaidi praised Fahy’s potential: “Fahy is one of the unique Saudi studios that possess great potential. We look forward to backing the team and their visionary approach.”
Merak Capital VP of Venture Capital Abdulelah Alshareef highlighted the industry opportunity: “The gaming industry in Saudi Arabia is evolving rapidly, and homegrown studios like Fahy are key to building global competitiveness. Our investment reflects our belief in their vision and our commitment to supporting the Kingdom’s gaming ambitions.”
With 67% of Saudi Arabia’s population — over 24 million people — identified as gamers, and with local spending outpacing global averages, the Kingdom is fast becoming a hub for gaming innovation. As the global gaming sector grows toward 2030, Fahy’s rise marks another step in Saudi Arabia’s strategy to become a gaming powerhouse.
