Cairo – talabat Egypt, the leading e-commerce technology platform in the Middle East and North Africa, has announced the successful conclusion of its “Up-skilling Program” in partnership with Egypt’s Information Technology Institute (ITI), affiliated with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.
The initiative, designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and market needs, trained 50 carefully selected ITI students and graduates in data engineering and software engineering. Participants were chosen through rigorous technical tests to ensure readiness for advanced training.
The program featured two tailored tracks delivered by talabat engineers from its Egypt Tech Hub, offering four practical sessions each. Students gained exposure to real professional environments, strengthening both their technical and problem-solving skills.
It concluded with a full-day intensive workshop focused on professional development. Activities included an employability session led by talabat’s talent acquisition team, providing graduates with job market insights and tools, alongside a brainstorming and innovation session with talabat engineers to nurture creative thinking and professional readiness.
Hadeer Shalaby, Vice President and Managing Director of talabat Egypt, highlighted the program’s significance:
“We believe empowering youth is a real investment in Egypt’s digital future. This program bridges the gap between academia and market demand by giving students hands-on experience and direct mentorship. We are proud of our ITI partnership and excited to see these talents develop solutions that benefit society.”
Shalaby added that talabat’s vision extends beyond employment, focusing on building an integrated ecosystem of learning, application, and skill development to create sustainable impact.
This initiative follows talabat Egypt’s wider commitment to youth empowerment, also reflected in its four-year sponsorship of the Egyptian Modern Pentathlon Federation, reinforcing its role in supporting both technology development and youth advancement.
