Tunisia Launches Najda Digital Platform for Nationwide Heart Attack Response

Tunisia’s Ministry of Health has announced the nationwide rollout of Najda, a digital platform designed to detect heart attacks and trigger immediate medical response. Following a successful pilot, the system will now serve as a national rapid-response tool for cardiac emergencies, according to a ministry statement issued on August 12.

Under the program, all cardiology and emergency departments, along with SAMU ambulance services, will be equipped with advanced digital tools. Medical teams are also undergoing training in collaboration with the Tunisian Society of Cardiology and the National Accreditation Authority.

How Najda Works
Najda connects ambulances, cardiology units, and hospitals in real time. When a suspected heart attack case is reported, patient data is instantly transmitted to specialists, allowing them to guide treatment before the patient reaches the hospital. This reduces critical delays, improves survival rates, and minimizes long-term cardiac damage.

Part of Tunisia’s Digital Health Strategy
The rollout is part of Tunisia’s broader effort to modernize its healthcare system through digitization and international collaboration. Authorities recently partnered with South Korea to enhance digital health infrastructure and inaugurated a new telemedicine center, easing access for patients in inland regions.

Beyond reducing heart attack mortality, Najda aims to standardize emergency protocols and strengthen coordination among medical facilities nationwide. The platform could also expand in the future to cover other life-threatening conditions such as strokes or respiratory distress, offering Tunisia a unified digital emergency response network.
