Zero Two Expands into Southeast Asia with Strategic Investment in Evolution Data Centres

Abu Dhabi-based Zero Two, an ADQ company focused on digital infrastructure development, has made its first investment in Southeast Asia by taking a co-controlling position in Evolution Data Centres (Evolution), alongside early investor Warburg Pincus.

Founded in 2021, Evolution is a leading sustainable data centre platform in Southeast Asia, with operations in Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam. All of its facilities are designed to run on renewable energy through Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with top-tier clean energy providers.

Zero Two said the investment would provide long-term growth capital to accelerate the deployment of hyperscale-ready, energy-efficient data centres across key Southeast Asian markets, catering to the rising demand for cloud and AI services.

Ahmed Al Hameli, CEO of Zero Two, stated: “Evolution’s strong market positioning and execution capabilities make it a compelling fit for our strategy. Together, we will accelerate the scale-up of sustainable hyperscale data centres to meet the region’s fast-growing digital demands.”

Darren Webb, CEO and co-founder of Evolution Data Centres, welcomed the move: “Zero Two’s support is a major milestone that will significantly advance our mission to deliver sustainable, high-performance infrastructure across Southeast Asia.”
