Dubai – JD.com (Jingdong), the Chinese technology and supply chain giant, has announced the opening of its first asset-backed warehouse in the UAE, located in the Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza). The facility, spanning over 10,000 sq m, marks JD.com’s first direct investment in the country through Jingdong Property, with operations managed by Jingdong Logistics.
The launch raises JD Logistics’ total number of warehouses in the UAE to six, strengthening its regional logistics presence across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey.
High-Performance Operations
The Dubai warehouse is already storing nearly 1 million items for a leading electronics manufacturer and boasts an outbound “in-time” rate of over 99.9%. Leveraging its JoyLogistics supply chain service, JD.com offers tailored inventory solutions that optimize space utilization, improve category-specific management, and handle seasonal demand fluctuations seamlessly.
Strategic Growth in the Region
JD.com is also scaling its property investments, with plans for a 70,000 sq m smart logistics hub in Abu Dhabi, in partnership with Abu Dhabi Airports Free Zone. This hub will further expand JD.com’s integrated network of international freight, bonded warehousing, and last-mile delivery — supporting both B2B and B2C operations in the Middle East.
Digital-First Logistics
The company’s logistics model is powered by real-time digital inventory management, ensuring performance optimization, traceability, and visibility across the supply chain.
