Manama – stc Bahrain, a leading digital enabler, has launched the second edition of its transformative jeel ICT programme, reaffirming its commitment to developing Bahrain’s digital workforce. The initiative, run in partnership with the Ministry of Labour and the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and on-the-job training, directly addressing the rising demand for digital expertise.
A flagship initiative of stc Jusoor, stc Bahrain’s corporate social responsibility arm, jeel ICT is a 100% nationalised programme aligned with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030. It equips Bahraini youth and fresh graduates with critical skills in technology, business, leadership, and entrepreneurship, preparing them for careers in the fast-growing ICT and FinTech sectors.
Proven Success and Employment Opportunities
The programme’s impact is already evident, with 15 graduates from the first edition securing full-time positions at stc Bahrain. Outstanding participants from the new intake will also receive direct employment opportunities, reinforcing the initiative’s role in shaping Bahrain’s next generation of digital leaders.
Government and Leadership Endorsement
Youssef bin Al-Hussein Khalaf, Minister of Legal Affairs and Acting Minister of Labour, praised stc Bahrain’s efforts, stressing the importance of preparing job seekers to meet market demands, particularly in the telecommunications and digital sectors. He noted that the second edition highlights strong community partnership in advancing national human resource development.
