Cairo-based digital procurement platform Suplyd has raised $2 million in a pre-Series A round, led by 4DX Ventures, Camel Ventures, and Plus VC, with participation from Seedstars and existing investors. The startup, founded in 2022, is redefining how small and medium-sized restaurants in Egypt manage procurement.
Suplyd directly connects restaurants with suppliers, solving long-standing industry issues such as fragmented supply chains, unreliable deliveries, and lack of transparency. Since its $1.6 million pre-seed round in 2022, Suplyd has scaled rapidly—growing nearly 20x in customers and goods delivered, now serving over 5,000 restaurants.
Founder and CEO Gohar Said reflected on the company’s journey: “What started as a bold idea is now powering thousands of restaurants daily. We’ve adapted, earned trust, and helped lead the industry’s digital transformation. And we’re just getting started.”
Backing Suplyd’s vision, Peter Orth of 4DX Ventures said the platform is solving massive inefficiencies in Egypt’s $10 billion+ HORECA supply chain and praised its early traction, strong supplier ties, and diverse revenue streams.
Hasan Haider of Plus VC added: “Suplyd has become a key enabler in Egypt’s F&B digital transformation, turning fragmented procurement into a streamlined, tech-driven process. Their traction proves the team’s deep market insight and operational excellence.”
With fresh funding, Suplyd aims to expand its tools and services, further simplifying backend operations and cementing its role as a category-defining player in the region’s F&B ecosystem.
