Cisco Launches Egypt’s First CCIE Mobile Lab to Advance Digital Skills and Talent Development

Cisco, in collaboration with Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and the National Telecommunication Institute (NTI), has inaugurated the country’s first Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Mobile Lab at its Cairo office.

CCIE, one of Cisco’s most prestigious and globally recognized certifications, validates advanced expertise in designing, implementing, and managing complex networks—skills that are increasingly vital in the age of artificial intelligence.

The initiative aligns with MCIT’s strategy to equip Egypt’s youth with world-class technical training and internationally recognized certifications, helping to build a skilled workforce capable of accelerating digital transformation.

Dr. Ahmed Khattab, Director of NTI, described the lab’s launch as a “qualitative leap” in Egypt’s training ecosystem, noting that it enables engineers to take the challenging CCIE exam locally, avoiding the significant costs of travel and accommodation abroad.

Cisco’s Senior Vice President and Global Innovation Officer, Guy Diedrich, emphasized that the launch reflects Egypt’s commitment to digital readiness and talent development. “At Cisco, we believe talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not. This Mobile Lab brings world-class certification directly to Egypt’s brightest minds, fostering innovation, employability, and the country’s digital future,” he said.

Cisco and NTI have partnered for more than 20 years, jointly training thousands of Egyptian engineers in advanced networking and cybersecurity. The first phase of CCIE assessments in Egypt will run from September 21 to October 2, 2025.
