Lenovo has announced the establishment of its new regional headquarters (RHQ) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, alongside the appointment of its executive leadership team for the kingdom. The move marks a significant step in Lenovo’s regional expansion and aligns with its strategic collaboration with ALAT, a Public Investment Fund (PIF)-owned company focused on sustainable technology manufacturing.
The announcement follows the February groundbreaking of a 200,000-square-metre advanced manufacturing facility in Riyadh, jointly developed by Lenovo and ALAT. Scheduled to begin operations in 2026, the facility will produce PCs, laptops, smartphones, and servers, reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s ambition to become a global hub for advanced electronics and industrial innovation.
Lenovo has appointed Lawrence Yu, a company veteran, to lead the Saudi RHQ. Supporting him will be Giovanni Di Filippo, former President of EMEA ISG, as general manager, and Zoran Radumilo, former IFS executive, as technology chief. Together, the leadership team will drive Lenovo’s growth strategy in the region.
The new RHQ will spearhead initiatives across R&D, marketing, strategic partnerships, and a flagship retail space with a VIP customer centre. These efforts, coupled with the manufacturing facility, are projected to contribute up to US$10 billion to Saudi Arabia’s non-oil GDP by 2030, advancing the kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals of economic diversification and technological leadership.
