Nemetschek Group and buildingSMART Saudi Arabia Forge Strategic Partnership to Advance openBIM Adoption

The Nemetschek Group has entered into a landmark partnership with buildingSMART Saudi Arabia, the kingdom’s official chapter of buildingSMART International, to accelerate digital transformation in the country’s architecture, engineering, construction, and operations (AEC/O) sector.

A global leader in AEC/O software solutions, Nemetschek said the collaboration will fast-track the adoption of open Building Information Modeling (openBIM) and international digital standards across Saudi Arabia’s construction and infrastructure industries. The move aligns with Vision 2030, advancing goals around innovation, sustainability, and economic diversification.

Under the agreement, both organizations will jointly facilitate openBIM adoption, support the rollout of digital standards, and identify pilot projects where Nemetschek’s solutions can enhance efficiency, safety, and cost control. The partnership will also deliver professional certification programs, specialized training workshops, and advanced BIM implementation courses tailored to the Saudi market.

The collaboration further includes advisory services focused on ESG-driven practices, green building initiatives, and digitally enabled construction approaches. By creating a truly open ecosystem, the initiative aims to deliver seamless data exchange and interoperability among project stakeholders, setting new benchmarks for efficiency and collaboration.

Nemetschek Group CEO Yves Padrines emphasized that the partnership reflects the company’s commitment to reshaping how buildings and infrastructure are designed, constructed, and operated. Nemetschek Arabia Managing Director Muayad Simbawa highlighted its alignment with Vision 2030, while Abdul-Rahman Al Ghabban, Chairman of buildingSMART Saudi Arabia, called it a pivotal step toward elevating the kingdom’s construction industry to global standards.

Together, Nemetschek Arabia and buildingSMART Saudi Arabia reaffirm their shared mission to modernize the AEC/O industry, foster innovation, and drive sustainable transformation across the nation’s urban development and infrastructure ecosystem.

Saudi Arabia’s AEC/O market now stands on the brink of a digital revolution—one that promises smarter, more connected, and more sustainable infrastructure for the future.
