e& UAE Dominates Opensignal Report, Sets World 5G Record, and Expands Enterprise Solutions

e& UAE has reinforced its leadership in the telecom sector, sweeping 12 of 13 national awards in the latest Opensignal Mobile Network Experience Report 2025, including Overall Experience, 5G Speed, Coverage, and Consistent Quality. The operator’s 66% Consistent Quality score placed it well ahead of rival du, while its 879 Reliability Experience points underscored its strong performance in essential mobile services.

While du managed a narrow win in Availability, both players scored above 99%.

World Record for 5G Uplink

In a global first, e& UAE achieved 600 Mbps uplink speed on a live 5G network using uplink 3Tx technology and FR1 band aggregation. This innovation unlocks new potential for uplink-heavy use cases such as AI logistics, smart manufacturing, and critical communications, paving the way for 5G-Advanced adoption.

Enterprise 5G Slicing Debut

In May 2025, e& UAE introduced the region’s first enterprise-grade 5G slicing solution, offering low-latency, high-priority data streams tailored to sectors like government, energy, and manufacturing. This marks another step in its transition from 5G NSA (2019) to 5G SA (2023) and now to advanced enterprise services.

Ericsson Partnership for 5G Expansion

e& UAE signed a three-year deal with Ericsson to enhance its 5G radio access network (RAN). Trials in the 600MHz band demonstrated 6km coverage, while the 6GHz band achieved 10Gbps downloads, preparing the UAE for future ultra-fast mobile connectivity.

UAE’s Global Digital Leadership

These achievements align with the UAE’s broader digital strategy, which earned the country 1st place globally in the UN’s Telecommunications Infrastructure Index 2024. The success reflects its focus on digital inclusivity and infrastructure excellence under We the UAE 2031.

Meanwhile, du has also advanced with 5G-Advanced deployment on the 2.6GHz and 6GHz spectrum, enhancing coverage in rural areas following the 2G shutdown in 2023.
