Saudi Arabia is set to roll out a groundbreaking artificial intelligence (AI) curriculum across all public schools for the 2025–2026 academic year, reaching more than six million students. This marks the Kingdom’s first nationwide integration of AI into general education, aimed at preparing the next generation for leadership in technology and innovation.
The initiative is the result of collaboration between the National Centre for Curriculum, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, and the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA). By embedding AI education at every level, students will gain exposure to the role of AI in solving digital challenges, developing creative solutions, and pursuing future careers in advanced technologies.
Aligned with Saudi Vision 2030, the program is designed to foster a knowledge-based society and build human capital for a data- and AI-driven economy. It underscores the Kingdom’s commitment to becoming a global leader in AI while equipping its youth with future-ready skills.
SDAIA has supported this transformation by launching training initiatives with global AI experts, creating ethical guidelines for generative AI in education, and developing the Saudi Academic Framework for AI Qualifications to ensure international standards.
Complementary programs include the SAMAI initiative, which aims to empower one million Saudis with AI knowledge—already reaching half a million participants—as well as an AI Scholarship Program to send students to top global universities. Additionally, the Generative AI Academy, launched in partnership with NVIDIA, is training professionals to innovate and compete internationally.
Through these combined efforts, Saudi Arabia is embedding AI literacy into its education system and workforce strategy, positioning itself at the forefront of global AI economies.
