Zurich – Swisslog, a global leader in warehouse automation and software, has unveiled its IntraMove series of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), designed for horizontal transport of payloads up to 3,000 kg (6,613 lb). The new AI-powered robots expand Swisslog’s automation portfolio with highly adaptable solutions for dynamic logistics environments.
Thomas Balzarek, AMR Solution Manager at Swisslog, said: “Our customers are increasingly looking for horizontal transport solutions capable of handling heavier loads and adapting to dynamic and frequently changing conditions. IntraMove AMRs are ideal for pallet transport in sectors such as food and beverage, fashion, and general merchandise, as well as inter-industrial applications.”
Key Features of IntraMove AMRs
- Payload Flexibility: Available in three models – IntraMove AMR 600 (600 kg), IntraMove AMR 1500 (1,500 kg), and IntraMove AMR 3000 (3,000 kg).
- AI-Enhanced Fleet Management: Integrated via VDA 5050 communication standard with AI-based fleet software for optimized route planning, order assignment, and traffic avoidance.
- Seamless Integration: Connects with Swisslog’s SynQ software, warehouse control systems (WCS), and warehouse management systems (WMS). Supports external equipment such as doors and elevators through standard protocols (MQTT, ModBus, OPC UA).
- Advanced Navigation: Uses SLAM (Simultaneous Localisation and Mapping) with dual laser scanners and AI algorithms to calculate efficient paths while avoiding obstacles—without cables or floor strips.
- Product Handling: Equipped with a smooth-step lifting device to move goods without jolts or damage, plus a range of modular top units (platforms, conveyors) for flexible handling.
- Scalability: Fleets can be expanded as businesses grow, without requiring major warehouse modifications.
Applications
IntraMove AMRs can operate as standalone solutions for order preparation or as part of integrated warehouse systems, supporting point-to-point pallet and box transport. They are particularly suited for food & beverage, fashion, e-commerce, manufacturing, and inter-industrial logistics, where flexibility, safety, and cost-effectiveness are essential.
Swisslog, which has been integrating driverless guided vehicles (AGVs) for more than 50 years, positions IntraMove alongside its existing CarryPick order-picking solution, offering high scalability, agility, and reduced operational costs.
