Zong Partners with Zindigi to Power Branchless Banking for Government Disbursements in Pakistan

Zong, Pakistan’s leading technology innovation company, has formed a strategic partnership with Zindigi, JS Bank’s fast-growing digital banking initiative, to enable branchless banking services for large-scale Government-to-Person (G2P) disbursements.

Under the collaboration, Zindigi will open M-Wallets for Zong customers, allowing beneficiaries in remote and underserved regions to directly receive monthly cash assistance. These funds, typically allocated under government poverty alleviation and disaster management programs, will be accessible through Zindigi’s network of agents and ATMs nationwide.

The initiative combines Zong’s advanced connectivity infrastructure with Zindigi’s digital banking capabilities to drive financial inclusion and expand access to essential financial services.

Farooq Raza Khan, Head of Business Solutions at Zong, said: “This partnership harnesses digital innovation to extend financial access to marginalized communities. By combining Zong’s connectivity with Zindigi’s modern banking platform, we are simplifying and securing transactions for those who need them most.”

Faisal Khalid Bashir, Chief Product Officer at Zindigi, added: “This collaboration enables government disbursements at scale, ensuring millions, especially in underserved and remote areas, gain seamless access to financial services. It is a transformative step toward building a more inclusive and digitally connected Pakistan.”

Beyond timely and secure delivery of funds, the partnership is expected to strengthen Pakistan’s digital banking ecosystem and showcase the role of public-private partnerships in solving social challenges. Both organizations reaffirmed their commitment to leveraging innovation for inclusive growth and contributing to Pakistan’s journey toward a digitally enabled economy.
