Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison and Cisco Launch Indonesia’s First Sovereign SOC to Strengthen National Cybersecurity

Jakarta — Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (IOH), in partnership with Cisco, has launched Indonesia’s first Sovereign Security Operations Center (SOC), a landmark initiative aimed at safeguarding the nation’s digital infrastructure and advancing data sovereignty. The launch follows the establishment of Indonesia’s AI Center of Excellence, marking a new phase in the country’s digital resilience strategy.

The Sovereign SOC features the first local deployment of Splunk Cloud Platform and Splunk Enterprise Security in Indonesia, meeting SOC 2 compliance standards. It delivers AI-powered threat detection, real-time observability, and incident response across hybrid and multi-cloud environments, ensuring that sensitive national data remains protected under Indonesian jurisdiction.

The SOC will strengthen threat intelligence, enhance regulatory preparedness, and provide AI-ready security infrastructure to support the safe deployment of generative AI and large language models. Beyond serving government agencies and large enterprises, it will extend affordable cybersecurity services to over 10,000 SMEs, enabling Indonesia’s small businesses to strengthen their defenses and compete more confidently in the digital economy.

As part of the initiative, Indosat and Cisco have committed to train one million Indonesians in cybersecurity and networking by 2030, expanding on the Cisco Networking Academy’s track record of training more than 500,000 participants across 200 institutions. The SOC will also function as a hub for Cyber Resilience Labs, hosting simulations, industry training, and readiness programs.

Vikram Sinha, President Director and CEO of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, emphasized: “Everything that is connected must be protected. This Sovereign SOC is about protecting our infrastructure, empowering our people, and securing the digital economy at scale.”

Cisco’s Dave West added: “This represents a bold step forward in building a secure, digital future for Indonesia. It lays the foundation for secure AI transformation and future-ready digital infrastructure.”

The launch comes at a crucial time, as the Cisco Cybersecurity Readiness Index shows 91% of Indonesian organizations experienced AI-related cyber incidents in the past year. By aligning with local content requirements and international best practices, the Sovereign SOC establishes a new benchmark for trusted, sovereign innovation in Indonesia’s digital economy.
