Manama, Bahrain — Beyon, the Kingdom’s leading digital technology group, has signed a strategic partnership with Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior to implement an AI-powered traffic monitoring system, marking a major step in modernizing the nation’s road infrastructure and enhancing public safety.
The agreement was formalized by Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs, and Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, CEO of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company and Chairman of Beyon. The ceremony was attended by Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the General Traffic Council, and Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy.
Under the agreement, Beyon Solutions — part of the Beyon Group — will supply and deploy 500 smart cameras integrated into a next-generation traffic monitoring system. Leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning, the system will deliver advanced real-time traffic data, enabling authorities to take proactive safety measures and improve discipline on Bahrain’s roads.
Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa emphasized the significance of the project, noting that the system’s self-learning AI capabilities will provide highly accurate, evolving insights that strengthen the General Directorate of Traffic’s ability to safeguard lives, reduce accidents, and protect property.
The initiative reflects Bahrain’s Vision 2030 strategy to adopt smart technologies and transform public services. It also positions the Kingdom as a regional leader in digital transformation and AI adoption, while reinforcing the government’s commitment to legislative and executive modernization of the traffic system.
Beyon reaffirmed its commitment to fully support the Ministry of Interior throughout the project’s implementation, ensuring the highest standards of execution and outcomes in line with Bahrain’s broader digital transformation agenda.
