Riyadh — Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), in collaboration with US microchip maker AMD, has announced the expansion of its ‘Saudi Made’ server portfolio with the launch of two new HPE ProLiant servers powered by 5th Gen AMD EPYC processors. The announcement was made at a ceremony held at the alfanar facility in Riyadh, underscoring Saudi Arabia’s growing role as a hub for advanced digital infrastructure.
The new additions, the HPE ProLiant DL365 and DL385 Gen11 servers, join HPE’s locally manufactured compute portfolio, which already carries the official ‘Saudi Tech’ logo and is available across Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, and the Gulf countries. These servers are designed to deliver high-performance, secure, and scalable computing, meeting rising regional demand for robust digital infrastructure fueled by investments in Saudi Vision 2030 and emerging technologies such as AI.
Mohammad Alrehaili, Managing Director for HPE Middle East, said: “We’re delighted to celebrate this major milestone with our partners AMD and alfanar. Demand for secure, high-performance compute in the Middle East is growing at unprecedented levels, and our new AMD EPYC-powered servers are designed to meet these needs with flexibility and speed, while ensuring data security.”
The servers, built on 4th and 5th Gen AMD EPYC CPU architectures, feature high core counts, larger memory footprints, energy efficiency, and customizable storage configurations to support intensive workloads such as data analytics, real-time processing, and AI applications.
AMD’s Zaid Ghattas, General Manager for the Middle East, Türkiye, and Africa, emphasized the importance of the partnership: “Our EPYC processors will provide the energy efficiency and performance leadership required to power Saudi Arabia’s digital growth strategy. We are proud to work with HPE to support customers in Saudi Arabia and the broader Middle East region.”
As part of the initiative, HPE and AMD also announced training programs to upskill Saudi talent, with a particular focus on advancing the majority-female workforce at the alfanar facility, helping strengthen innovation capabilities and the local technology ecosystem.
Markus Grabmeier, Vice President at alfanar Electric, added: “This milestone reflects our commitment to strengthening production capabilities, advancing technological expertise, and fostering female talent in the Kingdom, while contributing to Saudi Arabia’s rapidly expanding tech ecosystem.”
The expansion builds on the success of the first ‘Saudi Made’ HPE servers, launched last year with the National Product Certificate, and positions Saudi Arabia as a rising leader in data-driven economies.
