Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison and Cisco Launch Indonesia’s First Sovereign SOC

JakartaIndosat Ooredoo Hutchison, in partnership with Cisco, has launched Indonesia’s first sovereign security operations centre (SOC), featuring the country’s debut deployment of Splunk Cloud Platform and Splunk Enterprise Security. The SOC is designed to provide real-time, AI-powered threat detection and observability across hybrid and multi-cloud environments, tailored for enterprises, government agencies, and SMEs.

The new SOC ensures that sensitive national data remains within Indonesian jurisdiction, enabling faster detection and response to cyber threats while maintaining compliance with the country’s data sovereignty regulations. The initiative supports Indonesia’s ambition to become a leading AI innovation hub in Southeast Asia.

The launch follows a partnership announced five months ago between Indosat’s enterprise arm Lintasarta and Cisco to strengthen cybersecurity capabilities for Indonesian businesses. That agreement also committed to addressing the country’s digital skills gap by providing cybersecurity and networking training through Cisco’s Networking Academy.

As part of the broader initiative, Indosat and Cisco plan to train one million Indonesians in cybersecurity and networking by 2030. The SOC will also serve as a training ground for Cyber Resilience Labs, offering real-world simulations, industry training, and national readiness programs.

Indosat President Director and CEO Vikram Sinha underscored the importance of the initiative: “Everything that is connected must be protected. This sovereign SOC is about protecting our infrastructure, empowering our people, and securing the digital economy at scale.”
