Doha, Qatar – Ooredoo, Qatar’s leading telecommunications and ICT provider, and Qatar Airways, named the World’s Best Airline by Skytrax in 2025, have signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to expand collaboration in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cloud, and Cybersecurity. The move builds on 15 years of partnership and signals a joint commitment to driving Qatar’s digital transformation.
The partnership will establish a national AI hub, offering cutting-edge infrastructure, advanced tools, and robust data security frameworks. This initiative aligns with Qatar’s long-term vision for technological leadership and economic diversification, laying the groundwork for an AI-driven future.
A major focus will be developing local talent. Both organizations plan to launch training and upskilling programs to prepare the next generation of AI, Cloud, and Cybersecurity professionals, reinforcing sustainable growth and national digital capacity.
Ooredoo’s recent investment in the NVIDIA GPU platform — operational since July 2025 — further underpins the collaboration, providing businesses, government agencies, and developers with advanced high-performance computing capabilities to accelerate innovation.
Ooredoo CEO Sheikh Ali Bin Jabor Al-Thani said the alliance “positions Qatar as a global leader in AI advancement and digital innovation,” while Qatar Airways Group CEO Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer emphasized the airline’s role as a “national AI champion,” applying AI at scale across operations to enhance customer experience, workforce empowerment, and operational efficiency.
By integrating Ooredoo’s AI infrastructure with Qatar Airways’ operational expertise, the partnership promises more innovative, connected experiences across telecom, aviation, and beyond. It also reflects Qatar’s commitment to building a knowledge-based, technology-driven economy and solidifying its role as a regional digital leader.
