Nepal Telecom Expands 4G Services to Remote Villages in Lamjung

Remote villages in Nepal’s Lamjung district now have access to high-speed 4G mobile and internet services following a network expansion by Nepal Telecom under the initiative of Communication and IT Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung.

The GSM-based 4G rollout has reached Sanjapu, Udipur Dam Site, Manange Chautara, Bhirpastun, and Okhri, with preparations underway to extend coverage to Maling, Ghanpokhara, and Siurung. Despite monsoon challenges, upgrades are being implemented across all eight local levels of the district.

Locals welcomed the move, noting it fulfilled the vision of “Communication Rights, Access to All” after years of poor connectivity. Officials expect the service to enhance education, telemedicine, emergency response, agriculture, and small businesses, driving inclusive ICT-based development in rural areas.

Nepal Telecom has pledged to continue expanding 4G coverage across additional regions.
